I'm not much of a whisky-drinker, but I like the dark vibe of this upstairs bar on 7th Street. I asked the bartender to make me something that tasted good, and he delivered.

Great place to stop for a couple of cocktails before dinner at any of the nearby restaurants. Love the old-school vibe and the bourbon drinks.

Seven Grand would be perfect if it wasn't always packed to the gills. They have a great whiskey selection and fun drinks, but it is impossible to find a seat and chill.

f you like the Golden Gopher in Downtown LA, you'll probably like Seventh Grand Whiskey Lounge. The place is pretty cool... it's situated right between Olive and Grand on 7th Ave... the neon sign is a bit hard to see.Parking wasn't the easiest of tasks and they don't have valet parking so try and find parking where you can, or arrive early. The great thing about the place is that it's cool, happening, and there is no cover! The bar is on the second floor, so they'll card you on the first and you'll walk up a flight of stairs carpeted in a hip dark plaid. At the top of the stairs you'll notice that one of the walls has got a large 3 shelf cabinet that's filled with Maker's Mark Whiskey.I went on a Saturday night and they have a DJ spinning some music. Near the DJ is the private VIP room which is sometimes roped off for parties, and next to that is the pool table. For you smokers there is a long patio that runs along side the building with plenty of tables and outdoor seating. It's cool, but for a non-smoker like me... I didn't stay out there too long. The drinks were nice and strong and there's a wide variety of beers on tap. All in All a cool place to hang out without breaking the bank on cover and overly priced drinks.
